Claude Monet Lived in Giverny, France. Lived from 1840 to 1926.
Father of Impressionism. Loved to paint in his garden and outside.

Impressionism A style of painting where artist paints the way they see things rather than making them look realistic. The colors are pastel and use choppy brush strokes.

Landscapes Paintings of the land outside.

Water lilies Monet's most famous painting subject was his water lilies. He painted these over and over again.

Day 1: Building a bridge Put name and class code on back of paper, then flip the paper over. Using the painters tape, make a bridge by tearing the tape and taping it on to the white paper.

Day 2: Painting Move to either the white and blue table or the green and yellow table. Wait till Mrs. Farley gives the signal to switch tables. At the white and blue table paint in a sky, water under the bridge and clouds. (Later you can add a sun and such. Do not use the yellow paint). At the yellow and green tables paint in grass and flowers.

Day 3 and 4: Pull off Tape Carefully pull of the tape. (Throw it away when you are done) Use the pastels to add sun, water lilies, fish, frogs, Monet, flowers, birds in the sky and other details.
