3 Volunteering SPCA Orientation: 2 nd Saturday at 10am + 3 rd and fourth Tuesdays at 6pm 14 and under can volunteer with a parent 15 and up can go through orientation and volunteer alone with the teens program 18 and older can do any volunteer job Tuesday November 22 is next open Orientation. 15 more spots!!

4 Teen program 1) Kitten Keeper: Cleaning the kitten condos (scooping, feeding, water) in the Kitten Room and includes playing with the kittens. Mon 8pm to 9pm, Tues through Sunday 6pm to 8pm. Cat Butler: Cleaning the cat rooms to include scooping, sweeping, feeding, laundry, etc. Every day from 9am to 11am 2) Deep Cleaning (Dogs) - (DCD): This task involves helping us really scrub the dog bedrooms and other building areas. The schedule for this task is primarily Sunday, Monday, or Thursday mornings. Participants will be performing deep cleaning tasks such as: - Cleaning dog bedrooms & visitation rooms ( to include scrubbing floors and walls) - Disinfecting crates - Sanitizing play yards - Wiping down window sills - Cleaning windows (inside and out) - Vacuuming vents - Laundry 3) Canine Housekeepers: assist the staff person during any of the Butler/Referee shifts. This task differs from the Butler/Ref shifts at the same times because this person stays strictly inside and does not interact with the dogs in the yards. No prior training required. One person per shift and Adult/Youth teams are welcome (1:1 ratio) and this is a task that youths 15 and older can do on their own. This task is posted on the yahoo calendar at 7am and all shifts are noted in that posting. The duties are as follows… Help prepare food for dogs according to food chart. Help clean rooms while dogs are outside. Mop floors Replace dirty linens Wash windows 4) Facilities Friend: Laundry and general cleaning. There are AM & PM shifts everyday. 5) Puppies: Puppy Butler - Cleaning the puppy tubs. Every day, 8-9 AM and 8-9 PM shifts Pet and Clean Puppies - Cleaning the puppy tubs and socializing the puppies on Sundays, Mondays, and Thursdays at 11am-1pm and Thursdays 4-6pm.

5 Supplies SPCA OF WAKE COUNTY WISH LIST OUR GREATEST NEEDS ARE: Kitten & Cat Food (Canned and Dry) * Puppy Food (Dry)* *Preferred food includes high-quality brands like Iams, Puring, and ScienceDiet. The first ingredient should be meat, not filler or by-product. Scoopable Cat Litter Rabbit Food & Hay Rabbit Food (pellets with NO seeds or treats) Hay (Timothy, Orchards, Oat, Bermuda, Alfalfa) Bedding (Aspen only) Paper Towels Hand Sanitizer Liquid Laundry Soap Thank you for helping homeless pets!

6 Fundraisers We’d like to do fundraisers as a group periodically to raise money for 2 nd chance pet adoption This is the facility we got our cats from and we would really love to give back Fundraising ideas?

7 Fostering I work with a vet who spays feral cats and she is always trying to find somewhere for the kittens to go. I have taken in 10 kittens from her so far and found them good homes. We hope to get some good volunteers who would be interested in doing the same for 1 or 2 kittens.

Our meetings will be every 3 rd and 4 th Monday of the month Extra meetings will be scheduled as needed Those of you who have already been orientated can volunteer at any time, once more of us have taken the orientation we will try to schedule big groups of us to go together If you would, try to write down the hours you spend at SPCA we’d like to keep track of our group’s collective contributions
