3.  Allegory is a form of writing in which the setting, characters, and actions in the story actually represent something else.  There are two different meanings to the story:  One: the literal meaning (EXPLICIT) of the story (what is actually happening in the book)  Two: a deeper meaning (IMPLICIT) that the story represents.

4. ANALYSIS AND APPLICATION  [8 min] Analysis of chapters 2-3 in To Kill a Mockingbird  What could the classroom scene also represent or symbolize on another level? (Miss Caroline, Walter Cunningham, Scout Finch, Little Chuck Little, and Burris Ewell)  Think about a pyramid. Where would you place each character and why? Is it just about money? What else?
