2. Purpose  It is the policy of the company to provide equipment necessary to prevent injury in the event of a chemical exposure. Types of hazards  The Company stores and distributes hazardous chemicals in liquid, solid, vapor forms and are corrosive in nature. If employees are exposed, there is the potential for damage to the eyes or skin.  Safety data sheet must be reviewed for additional procedures that may be necessary in the event of a chemical exposure. 2

3.  Safety showers and eye wash are located within facility the near areas where there is potential for exposure to hazardous chemicals.  Stations are placed with a highly visible sign and the distance is no more than 10 seconds travel time for injured person to travel through an unobstructed pathway.  Stations must be connected to a potable water system with a back flow check valve.  The CSP stations are directly connected to the city-potable water system, and water is allowed to flow through an instant water heater. 3

4.  The heater is intended to provide tempered water to the station once it is actuated.  Two eye-shower stations are located in the maintenance area and one in the lab.  The locations are listed in the weekly inspection routine. 4

6. In the event a chemical exposure  In emergencies, turn on the shower and enter  Remove protective equipment while standing under the water. Rinse your head before removing your goggles or your chemical clothing  Flush eyes and / or skin for at least 15 minutes  Notify supervisor as soon as emergency has subsided  Seek IMMEDIATE medical attention for eye after completing the 15 minute rinse Do not rub eyes. Forcibly hold eyelids apart to ensure complete irrigation 6

7.  Notify supervisor as soon as emergency has subsided  Seek immediate medical attention for eyes after completing the 15 min rinse  Skin exposure medical attention will be determined in a case by case basis.  If you need to remove your clothes, use the towels located at each station for added privacy. 7

8.  Inspect the station closest to the work area. A quick, undocumented test tells if the unit is ready to be used.  All CSP stations are inspected for operation in a weekly basis.  A weekly, documented inspection is also in place. 8

9.  All CSP stations are flushed for 1 min. once a month.  The monthly inspection is documented.  An annual flow test must be conducted and documented in all stations.  The annual flow test must indicate no less than 20 gal/min at the shower, and 0.4 gal/min at the eye-wash station 9

10.  All CSP personnel must be trained in a yearly basis on the operation of safety showers in accordance with OSHA regulation. 10
