Cedefop - the European Union‘s reference centre for vocational education and training Cedefop‘s mission is to provide information on and analyses of vocational education and training systems, policies, research and practice. Cedefop‘s work underpins European vocational education and training policy. 3

4. Cedefop‘s raison d‘être The aim of the Centre is to encourage, at Community level, the promotion and development of vocational education and in-service training. Within the framework of the community guidelines, assisting the Commission, Cedefop shall, through its scientific and technical activities, contribute to the implementation of a common vocational training policy; It shall encourage the exchange of information and comparison of experience, thus supporting the Member States.” (Founding regulation, art.2/1, 1975) 4
