4 Effects on the Body **Do Not Copy** Increases heart rate 10-15 beats per minute (BPM) First it stimulates your brain, then it depresses you Nicotine= Vasoconstriction Your lungs are the size of a basketball court Alveoli become brittle Alveoli: The plural of alveolus. The alveoli are tiny air sacs within the lungs where the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide takes place
