10 Regarding Abortion Muslim jurists are of the unanimous opinion that after the formation of the fetus in the mother’s womb and after the entrance of the soul (at 120 days), it is prohibited to abort the child. Before 120 days, it is permissible to perform abortion if indicated medically and if the health of the mother either physically or psychologically is in danger.
