2. Traditional Medicine in Iran
First written information on properties and therapeutic uses of Medicinal Plants in “Avesta book”.
250 AC Jondishapour university in actual Khouzistan province was an important scientific center, especially in the field of Medicinal Plants based drugs. This university had also a hospital and produced different kind of herbal based drugs.
In 550 AC, a world medical congress which gathered medical practitioners from all over the world was organized in Tysphon.
