2. HOW DID THE WORLD CUP START? FIFA sent out questioners to see if they wanted to start a world championship. In 1930 the first world cup was hosted by Uruguay because the other candidates withdrew. Also in the first world cup there where no group stages so a lot of teams only played one game but in the second world cup there where. There was no world cup in 1942 because of the outbreak of World War 2.

3. WHY DID THE WORLD CUP START? People started to follow soccer and play soccer after the world’s first international match between Scotland and England in Glasgow in 1872 and the score was 0-0, then there was a competition in the summer Olympics. On 22 nd of May 1904 FIFA was founded in Paris.

4. WHICH COUNTRIES WHERE PART OF THE FIRST WORLD CUP? It was held in Uruguay in 1930 1 st place went to Uruguay, 2 nd place went to Argentina, 3 rd place went to the U.S and 4 th place went to Yugoslavia, and the other teams where, Chile, France, Mexico, Brazil, Bolivia, Romania, Peru, Paraguay, Belgium.
