Common Definition What do you (students) think tardy means? We as a faculty (the teachers) have all agreed that a tardy is when a student is not in their assigned seat when the bell rings. Do you think this is unrealistic or unfair? If so, why?

School Discipline Data Tardies are the most referred behavior at BCHS this Year: Tardies = 20% of all referrals. Same time during 2013-14 year. Tardies were also the most common referral comprising 21% of all referrals.

PBIS So has PBIS help reduce discipline any? This year, the 20% of tardies are 45 referrals Last year, the 21% of tardies were 112 referrals Explain this data?

Discipline Data All misconduct referrals are lower this year than last year. Tardies still remain the most referred item. Tardies are 60% less common when compared to last year. Should we be satisfied? What is your opinion. Teacher and Administration opinion = No. We expect better.

So what kind of punishment could I expect from Administration? Saturday Community Service Loss of Driving Privilege (remember Mr. Ellis can send a letter to revoke your license. Ouch!) In School Suspension Out of School Suspension (no prom)

What can you do? Being on time is important to us at BCHS What can you do to ensure that you are on time to school? What can you do to ensure that you are on time to classes throughout the day?

Write a bit on the following and turn in to your homeroom teacher. What do you define as a tardy? Do you think we have a responsibility (as teachers) to enforce a tardy policy. If you were da Boss, what would be your tardy policy? Regarding the video responses to tardies: Do you think they were extreme. At what point do you think that BCHS would enforce such a policy?
