Do you know your colors?  There are three colors to be familiar with when determining problems with your SMART Board:  Green  Amber or Yellow  Red

Green Indicator Light  The green light is what you always want to see.  The green light means that the SMART Board is connected to your laptop properly and has no problems.

Red Indicator Light  A red light means that the SMART Board is receiving power, but isn’t “talking” to the computer. The pen tray lights will not show and the board will not respond to touch.

Red Indicator Light  To rectify this problem, disconnect and then reconnect the USB cable at both ends to reset the interactive whiteboard and re-establish the connection.

Amber Indicator Light  A flashing or solid amber Ready light indicates that you need to reset the controller.  Please contact your technology coordinator!!!

Pen Tray Indicator Lights  This is a snapshot of your pen tray.  This is the location of the indicator light for each pen.  Upon selecting a pen from the tray, the light will come on to show that the tray is empty.

Pen Tray Indicator Lights  If there is a green indicator light for your SMART Board and the pen tray does not light up when a pen is selected: Check that the tools are placed properly in the pen tray.
