#10: The Will Of God In Creation

“We do not learn to know and to glorify God in independence from His work, but rather in and through His works in nature and in grace. That is why the Holy Scripture points out to us constantly the mighty works of God….Just because it wants to cause us to know the living and the true God, it speaks on almost every page of His might deeds.”

God Is Always At Work John 5:17 – “But He answered them, ‘My Father is working until now, and I Myself am working.’”

 All Things Are Good  Psalm 92:5 – “How great are Your works, O Lord! Your thoughts are very deep.”  Psalm 139:14 – “I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; wonderful are Your works, and my soul knows it very well.”

 Psalm 33:4 – “For the word of the Lord is upright, and all His work is done in faithfulness.”  Psalm 111:7 – “The works of His hands are truth and justice; all His precepts are sure….”

 Psalm 145:10 – All Your works shall give thanks to You, O Lord, and Your godly ones shall bless You.  Psalm 67:3 – Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You.

 “Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth; break forth and sing for joy and sing praises….Let the rivers clap their hands, let the mountains sing together for joy….”

 Ephesians 1:5, 11 – “He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will…also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will….”

 Isaiah 28:29 – “This also comes from the Lord of hosts, Who has made His counsel wonderful and His wisdom great.”

 Hebrews 6:17 – “In the same way God, desiring even more to show to the heirs of the promise the unchangeableness of His purpose, interposed with an oath….”

 Isaiah 46:10 – “Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things which have not been done, saying, ‘My purpose will be established, and I will accomplish all My good pleasure….’”

 It is NOT a creative force  Assumes SOMETHING will always by itself evolve and carry the germ of evolution within itself.  Assumes either matter or energy were always present, though mindless.

 Has faith that something happened.  Has faith that something happened either from matter or energy.  Has faith that something happened though no way to prove what that was.

 Not matter, but God  Not energy, but God  Not chance, but the will of God  Psalm 90:2 – “Before the mountains were born or You gave birth to the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.”
