Gian Luigi Morosin-Iola De Monte- ISIS Palladio-Treviso-Italy-2009 4 Its 5-year courses offers general subjects in the first two years (for 14-15 year-old students) and more specific technical studies in the next three years (16-19 year-old students). There are also evening classes for workers or mature students and courses for inmates at the local prison. The Diploma obtained at the end of the courses allows the following professional outcomes: Surveyors, CAD Drafters, Building Sites Managers, Assistants at Architects’ and Civil Engineers’ offices, Estate Agencies Consultants, or it may lead to further education: IFTS tertiary Education (2 years) or University ( 3 or 5 years) The “Conference room ” during a seminarA student during his final examination

At our school we offer learning support for extra help, counselling and vocational careers guidance, monitoring with subjects, extra computers studies and CAD courses, summer internships at local building enterprises, international exchanges of students and teachers. Gian Luigi Morosin-Iola De Monte- ISIS Palladio-Treviso-Italy-2009 7 European and international projects Considerable number of European projects (around 60) in the course of about 15 years Solid experience in particular in the mobility projects of teachers (46 sent abroad) as well as students carrying out training periods with companies related to their line of studies (just over 200 trainees sent abroad) and in class exchanges (over 300 students moving around Europe). Gian Luigi Morosin-Iola De Monte- ISIS Palladio-Treviso-Italy-2009 10 Role Teacher project: specific objectives In most of European countries Competence Based Education (CBE) is introduced which requires students to learn how to integrate knowledge, skills and personal qualities The partnership is intended to design strategies that can be used to achieve successful changes in the job of teachers, in order to enable them to give a new attractive meaning to their work, in view of the introduction of the CBE in all European educational systems.

Gian Luigi Morosin-Iola De Monte- ISIS Palladio-Treviso-Italy-2009 12 The education system,the reform of which is expected to take place after ministerial approval in 2011includes at present what follows : ● nursery school (non-compulsory) for children between 3 and 6 years of age; ● first cycle of education lasting 8 years, organised in two parts: primary education (lasting 5 years), for children between 6 and 11 years of age; lower secondary school (lasting 3 years) for children between 11 and 14 years of age ● second cycle of education consisting of two different pathways: upper secondary school, falling under the responsibility of the State, lasting 5 years and addressed to students from 15 to 19 years of age. It is provided by licei, technical institutes and vocational institutes; initial vocational training (three-year courses) for students who have completed the first cycle of education. It is organized by Regions.

Gian Luigi Morosin-Iola De Monte- ISIS Palladio-Treviso-Italy-2009 16 Present system of evaluation of the teachers’ work There is only one evaluation in a teacher's career life: it takes place at the end of his/her first year probation when a committee made up of seniors teachers examines the teacher's experience during the school year and appraises the dissertation presented by the teacher

Gian Luigi Morosin-Iola De Monte- ISIS Palladio-Treviso-Italy-2009 17 Teacher's in-training The National Contract foresees the right/duty to in-training during the whole career of the teacher, however there is no obligation neither control whatsoever on that, from an internal or external inspecting body.
