7. First create a Bylaw BYLAW 1151-07 BEING A BY-LAW OF THE SMOKY LAKE COUNTY IN THE PROVINCE OF ALBERTA TO ESTABLISH A REGIONAL DISASTER SERVICES AGENCY 3 other Communities within the county did the same.

8. What does the Bylaw say? Whereas the Smoky Lake County, Town of Smoky Lake, Village of Vilna and the Village of Waskatenau have agreed to work together through a Regional Disaster Services Agency to carry out emergency preparedness activities

9. Who is in charge in the event of disaster? The Director of Disaster Services shall be the DDS from the lead municipality involved in an emergency or disaster and act as director of emergency operations, or ensure that someone is designated under the Regional Emergency Response Plan to so act, on behalf of the Smoky Lake County; and Co-ordinate all emergency services and other resources used in an emergency.

10. What is the job of the other DDS ? All directors of Disaster services will coordinate what jobs need to be done and act as deputy directors to the municipality that is about to or has declared a local state or emergency. As stated in the policy
