Class Exercise: – Habits of a successful student Workspace that is conducive to learning Having a support network Staying organized with binders Printed out emails “receipts” Set up an email folder for each of your classes Time Management Plan and allow more time than you think Use the free resources

6 Future Assignments Journals in general Think of these as small papers, not a personal diary type of journal Requirements for handing in assignments (skip to next page) Journal #2 Time Management Journal Be honest with yourself, you will not be graded on how well you do/do not manage your time Self-Analysis Paper Make sure to read the entire page of ideas and suggestions to get you started Do not fall into the trap of using the list of questions as your only option for organizing your paper, try to be original and individual with your organization

7 Handing in Assignments Times New Roman, Arial or something similar (please no algerian, Edwardian, Brush, etc) Font size 10 or 12 1 inch margins Headings on first page should include your name, assignment, due date (if you wish you can include a 4 th for your reference) Your name and page number should be on top of each subsequent page Every assignment should be double spaced, no extra spaces between the paragraphs with the first sentence indented Do not bold or italicize everything Assignments should be Word Documents or RTF (also not in the body of an email) General Email etiquette – Always put something in the subject line! Email in this format – First initial Last Name Assignment – – Kstocktonjournal1 or kstocktonpaper1 (Go back to last slide)
