3 Sunrise Corridor Background Began planning in 1980s – I-205 to US 26 DEIS 1993, paused for regional land use considerations (Damascus) Clackamas County adopted Preferred Alternative 1996 ODOT and Clackamas County acquired land: ◦ “Superfund” site and other properties ◦ Camp Withycombe property, ODOT District Office

4 Sunrise FEIS Clackamas County $19 million earmark ODOT $20 million OTIA III SDEIS began 2004 – I-205 to Rock Creek Junction SDEIS published – October 2008 Preferred Alternative selected July 2009 - $1.4 billion Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) published December 2010 Record of Decision (ROD) February 2011

6 Jobs and Transportation Act 2009 Legislature: HB 2001 / Jobs and Transportation Act or JTA, dedicated $100 million towards the design and construction of the Sunrise $130 million total available $30 million Right of Way acquired / available Practical Design emerged Multiple Design Exceptions will be necessary
