5. Summary Randomly collected 100 pennies. Looked at each coin only once – recorded the year and created the tally chart simultaneously. Created a bar graph. X-axis showed year of minting and Y-axis showed number of coins.

6. Summary Range of years was from 1960 to 2008. Labels should have constant intervals in graphs so no information is left out. The year 2006 had the most pennies ( 12) followed by the year 2003. Several years in my range had no pennies and some had only one penny.

7. How are coins made ? First a mixture of zinc and copper is made into a metal sheet. Next, blanks ( round coins ) are cut out of those sheets by a machine. The edges of these blanks are run through a machine that smoothens and raises the edges. Then, the blanks are fed into a mill that stamps the images on both sides of the coin simultaneously. Finally the coins are counted and packed into large canvas bags to be delivered to the Federal Reserve Bank.
