5. Lewis & Clark  Jefferson commissioned Lewis & Clark to explore the new territory in a quest to reach the Pacific Ocean

6. Sacajawea  Lewis and Clark encountered the Native American woman Sacajawea on their journey and she joined their team in exploring the new lands

8. States  The new land from the Louisiana Purchase would prove vital to the development of our country  The land would also go on to create many new states as our country progressed
