Because this is a Big Question, you are going to answer a lot of smaller questions along the way. You’ll solve some problems the way scientists would solve them, and by the end of this Unit, you’ll have an answer to the Big Question. ”

“Imagine that you need glasses to read, but you forgot them. You have to copy some text from a book into the computer but you cannot read the text when it is on the desk. The challenge is to design a book support. It must be a certain height above the desk so that you can read the text. It must hold the book open, and it must allow you to turn the book’s pages. All you have available at your desk are index cards, paper clips, rubber bands, and a ruler. What will you do?”
