6 Analysing The chords that are played are all related to the E minor key. “All of Me” is about finding the one that makes you happy and makes you fall in love, therefore the chords are played on the middle to high end of the piano to make them sound more graceful and meaningful. To listeners these lightly executed chords sound happy and heart- warming. Makes you want to sit back and enjoy the song. The chords are not complex, a complex rhythm would defeat the purpose of the message from the vocals. This song portray what someone has gone through and people can really relate to that.

7 The difference between the Intro, chorus, bridge and the verses- The intro consists of chords played that are related to the E minor key. The intro is a basic E minor chord progression the same as the first verse. These are the most important chords used are Em, C and G, you can tell because every verse/bridge/chorus ends with these chords and are centred around these chords. The basic chords allow the listener to gently get into the feel of the song. Most of the chords played aren’t full chords, for example G major chord, the 1 st and the 5 th may be played by your right hand but the third will either be missed out or played on the Left hand to add depth to the chord (like the bass note). The bridge and chorus ‘s consists of similar chords, but instead of playing the chords as two or three notes together, they are played chromatically (not necessarily played in order like 1, 3, 5). Some have added notes that don’t belong in the chord but harmonize well with the vocals. The verse however has the same chord progression, the piano plays a repeating riff.
