8 Why is it important that we can identify fractions on a number line? IMP What are other reasons why it is important we can identify fractions on a number line?  Number lines in math are like graphic organizers in writing, they help us organize our information.  Being able to represent fractions on a number line helps visualize, or see, the answer to a problem.  Number lines help us compare and order numbers.
