3 Warm Up Take out a piece of paper and fold it in half long ways. On one side, write “Direct Characterization” and the write “Indirect Characterization” on the other. Write as many examples as you can for the character Kari. Remember what direct and indirect mean? https://youtu.be/0dQpFu8uRP0

4 Retake theme quiz? If you need to retake the theme quiz, you need to see me no later than today. The highest grade you will be able to receive will be a 79. Retakes will only be held Tuesday – Thursday after school.

7 Group Practice Take turns Reading “The Necklace” in your blue books pg. 72. Annotate for theme and characterization. As you read, look for examples from the text to complete your characterization chart on the story's main character, Mathilde. Stop reading at the line that starts with “The day of the party arrived…”

8 After the reading… Take out a piece of paper and answer 4 of the discussion questions on the following slide. Write the name of everyone in your group at the top right of the paper. Label it “The Necklace Group Questions”. Make sure you identify the number of the question you picked.

11 Intro to SVA To preload your online verb lesson. Stay in your groups and send one person to get a worksheet for each member of your group. Identify if subject is singular (only talking about 1 item) or plural (multiple items). Identify if the verb in the sentence is Singular or Plural. Ex: Dog -> Singular Ex: is -> singular Dogs -> Plural are->plural

12 Tonight Watch the SVA lecture tonight and complete the worksheet that goes along with it. You can find your SVA worksheet on the Google classroom at 3pm. Download it and complete for homework.
