HOME ACCESS GRADES ONLINE NISD provides grades online through the Home Access Center (HAC). Paper copies of progress reports and report cards can be provided for students in grades 1 – 5 upon request. Kinder students will receive a paper copy due to the format. If you need your password and user ID, please contact our front office at www.beckelem@nisdtx.org.

MATH WORKSHOP In Second Grade, students learn though math workshop. We have this broken down in the following categories: 30 minute problem solving block 60 minutes with Origo curriculum Opening lesson Guided math stations Closing session

SCIENCE There are four main areas of study in Second Grade science: Processing Skills: Students learn about note booking, science tools, lab safety, the scientific method, and measurement. Physical Science: Students learn about matter, light and optics, sound, force and motion PBL. Earth Science: Students learn about the moon, rocks, natural resources, the water cycle, and weather and seasons. Life Science: Students will learn about plants, animal classifications, insects, spiders, create a butterfly garden, the life cycle of the butterfly, and the food chain.
