Ancient history - is an era of time that comes after Prehistory. 3. The time period between about A.D. 500 and about A.D 1400 is the Middle Ages. 4. Modern history begins about A.D. 1400 and continues to today.

10 AD/CE Dating period AD stands for anno domini meaning “in the year of our Lord” Begins at 1 (there is no year zero) The year Jesus was born and all the years after CE = Common Era (after BC times) Example: AD 2015 Write AD in front of the year If the text does not give an BC or AD, then assume it is AD
