3 Activate EMS 2. Activate EMS If there are Bystanders –POINT “YOU go call 911” –POINT “YOU go get the AED” If you are BY YOURSELF –YOU Call 911 –YOU run & get the AED

4 Open the Airway 3. Open the Airway No Head Injury –Head Tilt Chin Lift Head Injury –Jaw Thrust

5 Check Breathing 4. Check Breathing LLF for 5 to 10 SecondsLLF for 5 to 10 Seconds –LOOK for Breathing –LISTEN for Breathing –FEEL for Breathing Give Two Breaths

6 Check Pulse 5. Check Pulse Carotid ArteryCarotid Artery –Two Fingers –Closest Two You

7 Activate the EMS 1.Call 911 OR 0 2.STAY CALM 3.Give Your Name 4.State the Nature of the Emergency  What Happened  How Many Victims  What you Know  What you are doing or is being done 5.Address  Cross Streets  Landmarks  Mile Marker 6.THEY will ask for your phone number 7.Hang Up Last 8.IF there are bystanders, send to meet the ambulance
