OGC ® 16 Summary OGC standards promote interoperability for improved situational awareness and decision making within and across organizations and jurisdictions OGC standards requirements have been influenced heavily by pubic safety, critical infrastructure protection, EM/ER, Homeland Security and Defense & Intelligence communities Procurement and technology policy language favorable to open standards like OGC will further improve market adoption and choice OGC standards, processes and membership can be an asset to any organization who needs to share their location data, either within their own organization or with others © 2014 Open Geospatial Consortium
