Conoco Pipe Line - Asset Integrity Database (CPL-AID) zWhat is it and why did we develop it? zWhy a database? zWhat does it do? zMethodology zAdded Benefits of CPL-AID zFinal Pick List Process zClosing

What is it and why did we develop it? zThe Conoco Pipe Line Asset Integrity Database (CPL-AID) is a Microsoft Access database zThis database is not just a data handling tool for ILI Logs zCPL-AID is a historical database zPreviously, anomaly repairs were thought to be final, i.e., “We’ll never dig here again!” zThe above statement is no longer true today zDigging previously dug anomalies is to be expected

Why a database?  The database format is the most efficient method  Properly compiled, all significant pipeline maintenance, survey and repair data can be stored and correlated with this database  The initial database can be easiest constructed from a single digital ILI Log from the joint numbering summary  A database can provide quick and efficient pipeline integrity summaries

What does it do?  There is a multitude of different applications that can be applied to the database. ILI Logs - MFL Corrosion, Caliper, Ultrasonic, and Inertial Logs can be correlated to allow evaluation of all data simultaneously Combining data w/ C-Scans and C.P. data Past integrity repairs can be documented for correlation with present and future ILI Logs for future repair programs The database has tools to assist with an anomaly pick list This database provides reports for the field use

Methodology zCPL-AID utilizes an old method by British Gas (PII) called Joint Numbering and we combine that with the offset distances to create Site ID’s or SID #’s. lThis method improves location accuracy, helping to eliminate unnecessary digs lThis method keeps our DOT records current with our pipeline maps. lThe joint by joint correlation effort is done in the office prior to preparing a dig program, improving our log accuracy and historical correlation effort; thereby, improving our maintenance integrity program.

Added Benefits of CPL-AID zStandardization of Asset Integrity Data throughout the company. lUtilization of same data input forms and verification processes for consistency of data lThe Pipeline Leak and Inspection Report form is used for the main data-input screen zCentralization of integrity and repair data. lAll personnel access the same data, input data the same way and use the same reports

Final Pick List Process zThe pick list is pre-loaded prior to the Project Management Agreement (PMA) meetings. zFace to face PMA meeting is held zStacking of hands on selection criteria and repair criteria before selection zIn addition, system unique repair criteria is discussed and finalized. zHCA’s, environmental, geological, landowners, permitting and site sensitive areas are combined with the analytical data before finalizing the pick list
