4. MATH Play counting games with your child Make a game out of telling time on clocks Create and use flashcards with math problems on them Teach time management skills – teach your child how to block out time for school, activities, study time

COMMUNICATION Talk to your child and listen when your child responds; allow them to practice their conversation skills/storytelling skills Teach your child to say “I don’t know” and then how to ask questions Teach your child how to research questions, including locating and using community resources Encourage your child to engage in the classroom and with the teacher

7. RESPONSIBILITY Give your child chores to do each week Teach your child to follow rules Be consistent: with rules, consequences and daily routines Allow them to participate in extra-curricular activities: teamwork, leadership skills, compromise
