14 During 2011 capital review process, NTA contended strongly that bus and cycling/walking investment needed to be protected –2012 to 2016 plan reflects that prioritisation Luas Cross City is one of the larger investment projects necessary for the city –Resolves the lack of connection of light rail –Strong benefits in business case, grows public transport overall –Complementary to other transport modes –Light rail only can handle the demand numbers projected for the corridors it serves –Supports the Grangegorman education/health campus which will transform Dublin’s north inner city
