1 4.B investigate and explain cellular processes, including homeostasis, energy conversions, transport of molecules, and synthesis of new molecules EOC Tutorial Lesson TEK 4B Cell processes Homeostatsis-water, sugar, CO2, O2 (This is where the Hypotonic, Hyper, and Iso Solutions come into play) Energy conversions-Sugar or Glucose into ATP in Cellular Respiration, Light into Glucose in Photosynthesis, Energy converted during metabolism or lost due to heat Transport of molecules-Cell Transport (Water, sugar, Sodium, Oxygen, Carbon Dioxide, etc); transport of proteins and other molecules on the ER; transport of mRNA during protein synthesis; transport of proteins by the Golgi Bodies; Transport of molecules in Cellular Respiration like NADs and FADs and Hydrogen Ions and electrons on the ETC. Synthesis of new molecules-All Biomolecules which includes Protein Synthesis and Nucleic Acids like DNA; Glucose, Carbon Dioxide, ATP, and Water in Photosynthesis and Cellular Respiration

2 4.B investigate and explain cellular processes, including homeostasis, energy conversions, transport of molecules, and synthesis of new molecules List how the cell maintains homeostasis in the body Cell Text Text Needs to be more at cellular level

3 4.B investigate and explain cellular processes, including homeostasis, energy conversions, transport of molecules, and synthesis of new molecules

4 4.B investigate and explain cellular processes, including homeostasis, energy conversions, transport of molecules, and synthesis of new molecules Drag the pictures in the correct place to form the equations for photosynthesis and respiration. Photosynthesis Respiration Sugar Point out the form of energy on both sides What was synthesized? Sugar

5 Point out the form of energy on both sides
What was synthesized?

6 Facilitated diffusion
4.B investigate and explain cellular processes, including homeostasis, energy conversions, transport of molecules, and synthesis of new molecules Simple diffusion Osmosis Facilitated diffusion Active transport For each section below color and label all parts. Use symbols to show net movement of substances across the membrane (i.e. blue circles for water, etc.) Use block arrows to show direction of movement. Label the concentration gradients. Use symbols to show the use of ATP Summarize what is happening in each step. Make a key for your symbols.

7 Endocytosis VS. Exocytosis:
4.B investigate and explain cellular processes, including homeostasis, energy conversions, transport of molecules, and synthesis of new molecules Endocytosis VS. Exocytosis: In the boxes below draw what happens during each of process. Endocytosis Exocytosis Box 1 particle outside Box 2 – dented phospholipid Box 3 in cell still whole box 4 free vesicle / particle dissolved? Reverse drawings for exo Mention Golgi vesicles.
