2 Mission Has Come Home to Your Community Facilitator, Jerry Appleby  Presently Executive Director – Reaching Our City, Inc., Oklahoma City, OK.  15 Years Overseas  Started Churches in Nine languages groups  Planted 16 churches.  Pastored five churches  Started two Compassionate Ministry Centers (Christian Community Development Non-profit Organizations)

27 WHY IS GOD INTERNATIONIZING OUR NATION?  TO CLOSE THE BACK DOOR OF MISSIONS.  TO AWAKEN OUR CHURCHES TO DAY-TO-DAY MISSION WORK IN OUR OWN BACKYARD.  TO SHOW THE UNITED STATES EXAMPLES OF UNITY AMIDST DIVERSITY.  TO EVANGELIZE PEOPLE WHO CANNOT BE REACHED IN THEIR NATIVE CULTURE.  TO ESTABLISH AN ETHNIC POOL OF POTENTIAL MISSIONARIES.  TO ALLOW THOSE WITH MISSIONARY GIFTS TO BE USED EFFECTIVELY RIGHT IN THEIR OWN BACKYARD.

28 What Can We Learn From Overseas Missionaries  Go Where They Are.  Learn Their Language.  Win the Right to be Heard.  Bridge the Gap through Friendship.  Allow cultural differences

29 LET’S BE MISSIONAL IN OUR EVANGELISTIC STRATEGY FOR REACHING OUR CITY
