ELPA will be one adaptive test in 2011-12, with the speaking domain segmented at the end. Schools should estimate that it will take 75 minutes to complete. Note: Tests that are not completed within 45 days of starting will expire. ELPA is a “Test Subject” that can be selected for inclusion in a test session from the TA Interface. 12 ELPA – Restrictions on who takes it ODE requires that ELPA only be available to students for whom LEP is set to “Y” in the SSID collection. This includes students coded 4N in the LEP collection. This change will help ensure that only LEP students take ELPA. Please remember that students who have exited from English Language Development services in the prior year (i.e. those on monitoring status) should not take ELPA unless they re-enter through the districts’ placement process. At the elementary level, teachers might choose to provide students with a name tag with their picture to avoid confusion with SSIDs.
