3 Section Programs Four Sections have PCO Chairs  Albuquerque, Holloman, Houston, Southwest Texas Reports received from two Sections  Albuquerque, Southwest Texas Large programs:  Houston’s Mars Rover Model Celebration Mars Rover Model Celebration –450 children, 26 schools, ~140 volunteers  Space Education Days – Holloman –1600 Children  BEST Robotics Support – Holloman, Southwest Texas Most Programs are small involvements with larger programs run by partners  Need mechanisms for mobilizing folks into AIAA branded programs Need to encourage more communication to entire membership of a section  People focus on their own neighborhood, don’t think about serving entire region  Little use of Section, AIAA media Biggest gap: providing Section support to our EA members

4 Albuquerque Program AIAA Branded Events  Supported, interacted with grant recipient school –Mrs. Michelle Skinner, a kindergarten teacher at Sunset View Elementary School in Albuquerque submitted a proposal that involved having personnel from the Explora Science Museum come to her classroom to conduct hands-on activities to teach the children about simple machines.

5 Albuquerque Program Events Supported  School to the World Event. Had Booth  Central New Mexico Science and Engineering Challenge (Science Fair) –Dinner Reception for winners May 10
