6 MDSS: AASHTO TIG Uses Real World Data: –Current surface conditions, forecast weather, pavement composition, available materials, equipment, and work schedules To Recommend the following: –Treatment type, application rate, and best time to apply To Achieve these benefits: –Timely and effective maintenance, material savings, environmental benefits, and cost savings

7 CAST: AASHTO TIG CA4PRS –Decision-support tool in selecting most economical rehab strategies –Integrate schedule estimate with traffic delay calculation –CalTrans saw a savings of $6M agency and $2M in user costs in one project ($16M project)
