How did the Romans and Jews Affect Jesus’ Teachings? The Romans effected Jesus’ teachings a lot because they hindered them by killing him. They did this because he was religious competition and was inspiring the Jews. Jesus was a Jew throughout his life so his teachings were almost entirely based on Judaism. This was accepted because, at the time, there were several different types of Judaism.

Why did the Romans hate Jesus? They saw him as a political threat The people didn't like the Romans and they thought Jesus could possible be a rebel leader He was to powerful because the people would follow his every word They viewed his religion as competition for their own.

What did the Jews think of Jesus? The Jews regarded Jesus as nothing more than an ordinary prophet. They didn’t particularly like him, especially because of all the attention he was getting from those people who thought he was something special. Ordinary people thought he was the Messiah from the Jewish texts, but the Jews themselves rejected this belief. Instead, they saw him as a false messiah, as Jews believe that the messiah must be an ordinary human being (as opposed to the Son of God) who brought world peace, rebuilt Jerusalem’s ancient temple, gathered all Jews back into Israel, and converted the world to Judaism. The Jews didn’t like Jesus because they also thought he was guiding people away from the truth in terms of religion.

Why did the Jews dislike Jesus? The Jews thought he was just a preacher. Some got jealous that he was the ‘son’ of God Although they didn’t nearly as much hate him compared to the Romans. They didn’t like him, but he didn’t bother them as much.

What did the Romans think of Jesus? Jesus grew up in the Roman province of Judaea, and became a travelling preacher around the age of 30. His message was about a greater kingdom than Rome- the kingdom of God. God, Jesus said, would provide new hope for all. Many listened to Him, and Jesus amounted a following. However, the Romans were very offended by the claim of Jesus' disciples that He was the Son of God. Also, the ideas that Jesus was spreading, about there being only one God contradicted the Ancient Roman religion.
