2 Ofsted Outcomes 26 Ofsted inspections last year 18 schools went up at least a grade 6 schools stayed the same 2 school went down - 4 schools went to outstanding 1 inspection this term – good outcome

6 The process - separate outcomes and input A real focus on improving the quality of teaching … and leadership First main section of the report will be a commentary on the school’s effectiveness in improving the quality of teaching The second section will be about improving the quality of leadership including governance LO to deliver some of the bespoke support Channel requests through Link Officer We welcome feedback Link Officer Role

7 Focus on the performance of groups – including, FSM and low attainers and high attainers Culture /climate – do children enjoy learning and are empowered to learn … are they thriving “Teachers and other adults impart knowledge authoratively … and generate high levels of commitment to learning across the school” Children are safe (not just feel safe) Inspectors will report on cases where schools are making an effective contribution to improving the performance of other schools Expectation that pupils perform well at each key stage - including EYFS Key Change to Ofsted Framework

8 - Teaching is outstanding - Learning and achievement is outstanding (rapidly improving) -Rich and relevant curriculum – excellent educational experiences -Pupils have excellent attitudes to learning and there is significant growth in their knowledge and understanding -Pupils are well equipped for the next stage of their education - High levels of literacy as a result of the school’s excellent practice - Effective sharing of good practice -“the school’s thoughtful and wide-ranging promotion of pupils SMSC development and their physical well-being enables them to thrive in a supportive, highly cohesive learning community - ( Ofsted Sept. 2013) What does Outstanding look like?
