3 Study Committee A3 HIGH VOLTAGE EQUIPMENT Working Group Activity ReportWG A3.33 2014Page No.: 3 Technical activities & discussion items Progress of work, documents to be discussed during the SC A3 meeting and future program The kick-off meeting of WG A3.33 had been held on the 14th and 15th of September, 2013. There were brief introductions and discussions to the experiences of series and shunt compensation applications in several countries by members from those countries.

4 Study Committee A3 HIGH VOLTAGE EQUIPMENT Working Group Activity ReportWG A3.33 2014Page No.: 4 Technical activities & discussion items Progress of work, documents to be discussed during the SC A3 meeting and future program The second meeting of WG A3.33 will be held on the 15th and 16th of April. The experiences of series and shunt compensation applications in several countries will be discussed further. A technical visit to an UHV substation with series capacitors is scheduled on the 14 th, also. A questionnaire draft will be prepared before the second WG meeting, and will be discussed and supplemented in the meeting. The questionnaire will be distributed among the WG members as homework and used for investigations of series/shunt compensation applications in words and figures after the second meeting.
