2 Imagine the following: *What if the government taxed you $.01 cent for every text message you sent? How much would that be? Would that make you mad?

3 Sugar Act 1764 Placed an act on sugar, molasses, rum and any products shipped to the colonies.. Tax was imposed on the colonists without their consent

4 Taxes Raised $ for War Stamp Act taxed all commercial acts – Wills, contracts, newspapers, diplomas, These taxes help pay for the French and Indian War

6 Intolerable Acts Reaction to the Boston Tea Party laws passed to punish and hopefully convince the colonists that they behavior would not be tolerated Ex: closed the boston harbor after the tea party incident
