15. 15 RegioStars Awards 2008 - Award Winner in the Category “Supporting clusters and business networks” The cross-border Øresund region Sweden and Denmark The project is a cross-border partnership between Sweden and Denmark. Six innovative platforms bring together regional authorities, businesses and 14 universities from both sides of the border, working on food, logistics, environment, IT, health and design. What the jury said: "This project has had real impact and has overcome language, legislative and physical barriers by building inter-regional partnerships that had previously been non-existent. It is an excellent example of a bottom-up triple helix approach. The project has a good administrative foundation, good working partnerships and is a good example of successful networking". 18. 18 11 regions: born from 4 years of networking experience within the ERIK network (including Ltc AB from Smaland med Öarna). Aims to improve the effectiveness of regional development policies on innovation and the knowledge economy and, specifically, in upgrading the innovation capacity of existing enterprises. It will produce an action plan for each region to mainstream results into OPs.
