Click check box first.

Enter in Connection Parameters Name: (du?) Host: srb.sdsc.edu Domain: npaci Port: 7321 Authorization: ENCRYPT1 c. Notice the “Add New Connection” button, click it d. Enter Password: 2006SRBclass e. Connect f. Disconnect g. Reconnect

Bullseye looking icon(s): Available SRB Zones 3.The buttons: Top bar “explorer like” Right bar “SRB specific” 4.Click the + box next to your home dir The smiley faces (nice feature) show the permissions for this object, and this object alone (object = file or folder) srb@sdsc = SRB admin account that made your account 5.Select your ‘defaultResource’ (upload resource) “Use Resource | Container” Drop down, select “sfs-tape-tgd”

8 SAN DIEGO SUPERCOMPUTER CENTER inQ Step by Step 3.Download this power point 1.Double click on “Demo” folder 2.Double click on “SRB-Tutorial” folder Notice the metadata for this folder in the metadata-view 3.Single Click on SRB-inQ.ppt 4.Click on download button, select Desktop, OK 5.Drag and Drop SRB-Scommands.ppt to Desktop 6.You have just downloaded via inQ’s two download methods

The grid is all in the “Details” 1.Double click on files-1 folder 2.Click in ‘content-view’ area to select it 3.Now click on the ‘Details’ button (top right) 4.Notice the ‘Resource’ column 5.And the ‘owner’ column 6.Look at the permissions of each file (click + box next to files) in the ‘tree-view’

Tell me about that picture, without viewing it 1.Double click on cars folder 2.Looks pretty normal 3.Click on roman.jpg in the tree-view and notice the metadata-view 4.What’s that M pyramid thing? This is metadata about this file. 5.So, what kind of car do I drive?

11 SAN DIEGO SUPERCOMPUTER CENTER inQ Step by Step 6.Now find my car and get it 1.Click the minus next to Demo folder 2.Click the “Query” button ( Q on a pyramid ) 3.Enter “Make = Ford” Click Add button 4.Click OK 5.Now in Saved Queries area with results 6.Almost what we want (pretend there are thousands) 7.Need to refine query 8.Click the “Query” button again 9.Enter “Model = Mustang” Click Add button 10.Click OK 11.Double click roman.jpg in content-view

14 SAN DIEGO SUPERCOMPUTER CENTER inQ Step by Step 9.Giving away permissions 1.Click on SRB-Scommands.ppt in your home directory 2.Click the “Access Control” button (gold key) 3.Click “Add…” button 4.Left window, select “TGzone” (the zone you want) 5.Middle window, select “sdsc” 6.Notice the right window, now full of users from SDSC 7.This is an example of how you would select “a user” 8.Middle window, select “groups” 9.Notice the right window, now full of groups and domains 10.Right window, select “npaci” 11.Bottom menu, click on down arrow 12.Bottom menu, select “read” 13.Click OK 14.You have just given everyone with a npaci domain (doubles as a group) read permission to your file
