3 Excellence in Manufacturing Engineering The Aim of Connected Programme To facilitate Northern Ireland’s two universities. To extend the range and depth of their collaboration with the further education sector Primary focus on meeting the needs of business innovation

4 Excellence in Manufacturing Engineering The Aim of Connected Programme The main message which the project aims to communicate is that universities and colleges are not just places that produce skilled graduates; they also provide a vast diversity of expertise.

5 Excellence in Manufacturing Engineering How did it Connected Start? Launched in 2007 as a pilot scheme Funded by DEL. Annual budget of £1KK Currently on Connected 3 which will run to 2018 Funding boosted by to include a competitive fund of £120k per annum

6 Excellence in Manufacturing Engineering Competitive Funding Proposal of an innovative project is put forward to CNI. Collaboration Between FE, HE and an SME required. New to the innovation ladder. Potential Impact of project to assessed. Dissemination of knowledge or skills to other companies
