EISCAT Real Time Graph ● Plot the incoming data in “realtime” ● Experiment name ● Give disk information – Recording? – Space left ● Calculate basic parameters – System temperature – Received power ● Data quality check – Power profile – Spectra profile – Background spectrum

EISCAT Real Time Graph ● Written in Matlab ● Downloadable from www.eiscat.sewww.eiscat.se – Runs in post experiment mode as well ● CP setups – Mainly for the operators – Rather technical information ● Own setups – Can do some analysis – May use only the integrator for easy access to data

Running the RTG in RT ● The EROS “rtg” command brings up the – rtg window ● rtg error messages ● which definition file is used ● integration activity – Raw data window ● Plots the whole dump ● Control buttons

Other RTG windows Provided a valid definition file was found – Pulse windows ● Power profiles ● Timing profile (remote) ● Calibration profiles ● Signal spectra ● Background spectra – Raw data windows ● Preselected cuts of d_data – Amplitude windows ● Preselected cuts of d_raw ● Time development window – Time development of all lineplots in the pulse windows ● Special windows – Any “home-made” plots defined in definition file

Alternatively, text can be pasted into the window from elsewhere. Each entry is date-stamped from the system clock and stored almost exactly as entered. The name of the originating machine is appended to the date stamp. ● The log files are stored in a special area in the form of one file per day. ● Options are provided to view the whole of today's log, or the complete history of the logs presently on line.
