2 1:10 Scale Gas powered, two-stroke engine One speed Power routed to all 4 wheels equally through central transfer case, drive belts and drive axles. 4-wheel independent suspension Utilizes control arms and Spring/Strut assemblies Steering is through front wheels using servo motor Components firmly attached to full metal frame spanning entire length of vehicle. R/C C AR S PECIFICATIONS

3 O BJECTIVES AND M OTIVES Complete 3-D model of an R/C car Many precise measurements Required skills learned in class Create full motion animations of engine and drive train Electrical connections will be ignored

4 C HALLENGES Many gears and connections Complex constraints Intricate designs Measurement difficulties Slow computers Assembly and animations proved to be difficult and time consuming

5 F RAME Became ground body for assembly Very precise measurements needed All dimensions of taken from the frame to insure perfect fit Used many splines and arcs to get the flowing lines of the frame Notches cut into frame allow for differentials and gears to fit in both, actual and computer generated frame.

6 S USPENSIONS Spring/Strut Assembly Springs utilizing helical sweeps Spring relations Ball joints to connect to suspension Intricate design patterns

8 S TEERING Uses servo motor to move various linkages Servo motor arm connected with pins connections All linkages connected with ball joints Used cam connection to link two steering arms

9 E NGINE Single piston, two-stroke design Notable feature of project Used cylinder connections for piston Pin connections for crankshaft, wrist pin and connecting rod Included servo motor to provide motion for animations
