Levying Taxes Articles Congress could not request states to pay taxes. Constitution Congress has right to levy taxes on individuals
Federal Courts Articles No system of Federal Courts. Constitution Court System created to deal with issues between citizens and states.
Regulation of Trade Articles No provision to regulate interstate trade. Constitution Congress has right to regulate trade between states
Executive Articles No executive with power. President of U.S. merely presided over congress. Constitution Executive branch headed by President who chooses cabinet and has checks on power of judiciary and legislative branches.
Representation of States Articles Each state received 1 vote regardless of size. Constitution In the Senate each state has 2 votes. In the House of Representatives votes are based on state population. 435 votes are broken up among the states.
Raising an Army Articles Congress can not draft troops but states must provide them. Constitution Congress can raise an army.
Sovereignty Articles Sovereignty resides in states. Constitution The constitution is the supreme law of the land.
