2 Building the Titanic The Titanic was a British Royal Mail Steamer.
It took 15,000 ship builders 3 years to build the Titanic. It cost $7.5 million to build in The Titanic had 10 decks. The Titanic was about 882 feet long and about 92 feet wide. It weighed 46,328 tons.

4 RMS Titanic’s Voyage The Titanic began her maiden voyage on April 10, 1912. She set sail from Southampton, England and was headed to New York City. There were 2, 435 passengers on board. 1st Class = 735 passengers 2nd Class = 674 passengers 3rd Class = 1,026 passengers There were 885 crew members on board. 5 The Sinking Titanic’s Iceberg On April 14th, at 11:40pm, the Titanic struck an iceberg on its starboard bow. An iceberg is a mountain of ice. 85% of an iceberg’s bulk is below the water. The iceberg that the Titanic struck was over 5,000 years old. The iceberg was feet high and feet long. 6 Rescue It took 2 hours and 40 minutes for the Titanic to sink.
Titanic Survivors 3info2u.com RMS Carpathia It took 2 hours and 40 minutes for the Titanic to sink. The rescue ship, Carpathia, took four hours to reach the site of the sinking. The Carpathia rescued 705 survivors and took them to New York. Most of the 1,523 people who died when the Titanic sank froze due to the freezing temperatures.

7 Rediscovery Bow of the Titanic Dr. Robert Ballard Robert Ballard and Jean-Louis Michel led the team that discovered the wreckage of the Titanic on September 1, 1985. The wreckage was located about 300 miles southeast of Newfoundland, Canada. It was 12, 500 feet down on the ocean bottom.
