A. Deployment B. Installation DOST OL Trap System for Aedes Mosquito Public Schools (Nationwide) Elementary High School The program has two components: 1. C. Monitoring of OL index

2. Establishment of a website for dengue vector surveillance

Process Flow DOH Provide funds to DOST for the purchase of OL Trap Kits DOST (ITDI) Procure the Kits HVC Produce and deliver the kits to the schools DepED 1. Install the kits in the Classroom (2 kits per classroom) 2. Monitor and record OL trap indices weekly 3. Submit data through SMS to content provider DOST Regional Offices DOST Conduct monitoring and ensure data on OL trap indices are reported weekly. 1.Upload the data on OL Trap Indices to the website 2.Maintain, manage and operate the website 1. Monitor dengue incidence/cases 2. Issue health advisory/alerts

Brief Description of the Website

The Ovitrap index history appear when school’s name was clicked

Brief Description of the Website

The details of the school and the corresponding intervention appear when balloon was clicked

Why we need to install the OL Trap System?

 A two in one device: 1.Surveillance tool and at the same time, 2.a trap; reducing the population density (collects eggs).  It is also an attractant trap of which the eggs are deposited on the paddle.  The trap consists of a black container, a small strip of lawanit or tongue depressor and water.  It is used as a means of detecting mosquitoes as well as an approximate gauge of the adult population in an area.  It can be used to estimate fairly well the population of adult mosquitoes in the environment by counting the number of eggs laid on the moist paddle.  In this way, a sudden increase of mosquito population can be detected.
