2. Requirements A minimum of 30 hours of UNPAID community service Suggested Pace: – 9 th grade: 6 hours – 10 th grade: 8 hours – 11 th grade: 8 hours – 12 th grade: 8 hours

3. Definition Volunteer service beyond the confines of a traditional classroom that fosters civic responsibility for the benefit of the community. Service is nonpaid. Through this service, students will develop skills, career awareness, and self-esteem.

Examples of Acceptable & Unacceptable Community Service DOES COUNT: Afterschool tutoring at an elementary school Working as an agency volunteer Beach clean-up Working at blood drives Graffiti removal School beautification program DOES NOT COUNT: Church babysitting/altar boy Working as a student aide Babysitting Working at home
