It was a still, starry night. The sky was as black as coal and all that could be heard was the hoot of a solitary owl and a gentle rustle, as the breeze danced through the trees. The entrance to the Magik Circus was quiet and deserted. A sign by the entrance held a poster: Artistes Wanted.

In one of the caravans there was a little girl. She was alone, in the dark night with nobody to care for her. A candle flickered as the girl dropped a silver coin in a small box. The box held invoices which needed to be paid but she hadn't got the money or any circus acts.

Hopping down the street, was a golden coloured teapot. The teapot, which was actually made of brass, looked up at a sign it said: Artists wanted. The girl lied down in her bed hoping that she’d pay the bills and get an artist for her circus. She laid her head on the pillow and cuddled her teddy. Eventually, she fell asleep.

Suddenly, the girl was disturbed by a noise. She tossed and turned and tried to get to asleep again. She heard it again then she came out of her bed and slowly, the girl walked up to her window. Peeking out of the window, the girl saw a shadow moving around in the big top. She didn’t know what it was so she walked quietly to where she saw it.

The girl entered the empty room and she looked around. At first she saw nothing and she turned around then took one step forward, about to walk away. She heard something again and turned around. There in front of her there was a teapot. It wasn’t an ordinary teapot it was alive! “Who are you and why are you here so late at night?” the little girl asked. It didn’t answer. Instead it started to flash and it was hopping crazily.

In amazement, the girl saw that the teapot wasn’t just a teapot. It disappeared and transformed into frog-like genie! The girl was quite shocked. The genie didn’t know what to do. He wanted to impress the girl because he wanted to get a job at the circus. Then, the genie pulled out plant but instead of impressing the girl it started to snap at the girl with its sharp teeth.

It carried on snapping at the girl while she stepped back away from the plant to avoid being bitten by it. The genie pulled the plant back and away from the girl. "Sorry I didn’t know that anything like that was going to happen "explained the genie The genie showed the girl a poster saying wanted artists. He was hoping that he would get a job at the circus.

“Maybe I could use him for a circus act?” wondered the girl. The girl thought that she could use any of his ideas that he had then she finally pay the invoices. “Here ii’ll show you some of my ideas,” exclaimed the genie. He pulled down a board and showed his ideas he had. But in all his ideas he had the girl died! The girl wasn’t going to do them.

The girl started to cry. She knew that she wasn’t ever going to pay the bills she had. The genie started to feel bad. Then the genie had an idea but it wasn’t a very brilliant idea. Well, not for the genie anyway. The genie had transformed into a frog. Then the girl had an idea that she could try and it included using the frog.

The girl threw the frog in the air then she laughed. The frog regretted what he did. He wished that he’d never made that mistake. The next day was the day of the flying frog show in the big top. The Frog was nervous. Then it was time for the act..

The frog flew in the air and tried to grab the bar and he missed! He dropped down to the floor then he landed on a big, colourful ball. The frog struggled to balance. He fell of and then he found himself in a canon. The girl, who was giggling throughout the whole show, lit the canon and the frog flew up into the air again.

The frog grabbed onto the bar but the girl cut the rope that attached the bar to the wall. The frog fell to the floor. The girl put her hands as money fell around her. The girl could now pay the invoices but the frog didn’t have a good time. The girl did.
