Chimpanzees are omnivorous, meaning they eat whatever is available, mostly plants. They also eat bugs, fruit, nuts and insects. They use rocks as hammers to crack open nuts to eat. They use sticks to dig out bugs. They use leaves to soak up water to drink. They, at times, eat smaller animals, like small monkeys. Chimpanzees are often preyed on by leopards and human poachers.

A female Chimpanzee gives birth to a baby Chimpanzee, not an egg. A female gives birth to only one baby at a time, twins are rare. A mother carries her baby every where she goes, clinging to her, until the age two. Chimpanzees have a strong bond, especially between mother and child, which can easily last seven years, after birth. Females reach reproductive age at 13. Males are not considered adults until age 16.
