Proclamation of 1763: Beginning of British Interference Colonists and Native Americans had disputed territory since the first Pilgrims Great Britain felt that the Indian Wars (Especially the French and Indian War) had become too expensive and forbade Colonies from expanding. Great Britain wanted to expand fur trade and taxes were put in place to pay for military protection of Colonies
